The James Brothers, James James and his brother Edward Rees James, operated a photographic studio in Wollongong in 1867 but in 1868 they were running their studio in Kiama. The Kiama studio lasted until about 1874 at which time the brothers re-located to Molong.
There are a number of photographs from the Kiama studio still in existence which are reproduced below. If you have any old photographs which are of people known to have been from the Kiama/Jamberoo areas and which have similar backgrounds (note the distinctive carpet) to those below please contact me.
